Visit the New City
Plan a visit to your new location and learn about the city or town:
- Select a neighbourhood
- The commute to work
- Schools and daycare
- Services: gas, grocery, shopping, restaurants
- Leisure Activities: recreation facilities, sports, entertainment, clubs, associations
- Community: volunteering, religious services, political organizations, community groups
- Health care: hospitals, walk-in clinics, doctor, dentist, optometrist, and other services
- Buying a home
Moving On
- Sell your home
- Discontinue services: snow removal, lawn care, newspaper delivery, gym membership, etc.
- Pack, purge, and donate your possessions
- Hire a moving company
- Move your vehicle
- Move your pet
- Plan a move with children
Change of Address
- Forward your mail (Canada Post)
- Update e-mail and social media
- Notify of address change:
- Family and friends
- Banks and other financial institutions
- Insurance (life, home, and vehicle)
- Driver’s License
- Health Card
- Revenue Canada
- Vehicle registration
- Utilities (water, gas, and hydro)
